RESiLICON has secured exclusive EMEA rights to Advanced Material Systems (AMS) technology—proven to cut energy consumption in polysilicon production by up to 30%. Already deployed successfully in South Korea and India, this breakthrough positions RESiLICON at the forefront of sustainable manufacturing in Europe. AMS is a global leader in polysilicon process innovation, with a strong legacy across the semiconductor and solar sectors.   • Where will the plant be built?

    RESiLICON has signed a reservation contract with Groningen Seaports (GSP) for a 22.5-hectare plot in Farmsum, Province of Groningen—an ideal location for polysilicon production.
  • What is Polysilicon and why is it important?

    Polysilicon is a high-purity form of silicon used as a key raw material in both the solar and electronics industries. It is widely recognized as one of the most critical materials driving the energy transition and powering the digital economy—including technologies like IoT and AI. The polysilicon produced by RESiLICON serves as feedstock for ingot manufacturers, who transform it into silicon ingots. These ingots are foundational to the semiconductor industry and essential for manufacturing solar cells and modules.
  • What grades, what quality are you expecting to produce?

    RESiLICON BV will produce ultra-pure sustainable polysilicon (9-11N) for the solar and the semiconductor industry. Apart from polysilicon RESiLICON will also consider producing specialty gases (Bi-chloro-silane and silane) for semiconductor and battery anodes manufacturing.
  • Is this a new technology? Is it proven?

    We will use Siemens' proven technology, in combination with our technology partner AMS, a globally recognised leader in polysilicon process technology. AMS has a strong track record in both the semiconductor and solar industries, having already demonstrated the technology in plants located in South Korea, the USA, Malaysia, and India. Their technology is expected to significantly reduce our energy consumption.
