RESiLICON plans to advance the design of an energy-efficient polysilicon production facility, with an initial annual capacity of 13 kTonnes and the potential to expand to 26 kTonnes. At full capacity, the facility could support approximately 13 GW of solar manufacturing capacity each year.
Using the proven Siemens process, the facility will produce ultra-pure polysilicon. Our 11-12N purity enables the production of ingots and wafers for the semiconductor industry, as well as high‑performance solar cells and panels, including advanced hetrojunction (HJT) and TOPCon technologies.
In addition, specialty gases can be produced such as silane for battery anode manufacturing.
RESiLICON has secured exclusive European rights to Advanced Material Solutions (AMS) polysilicon technology which is proven to cut energy consumption in polysilicon production. AMS is a recognised global leader in polysilicon process innovation, with extensive experience across the semiconductor, specialty gases and solar sectors.
Innovation is a strategic driver of RESiLICON’s future competitiveness. Alongside deploying proven polysilicon manufacturing technology, our R&D strategy focuses on improving product quality, process efficiency, reducing energy consumption and advancing circularity to support Europe’s solar and semiconductor value chains.
Current activities include supporting research into the reuse of materials recovered from end-of-life solar panels.
We collaborate with leading research organisations, including TNO and universities, alongside industry partners such as AMS.
Our proposed facility at Groningen Seaports in Farmsum will be more than a plant: it will be a launchpad for innovation, supported by a state-of-the-art laboratory for process optimisation, product qualification and customer-specific trials. In addition, RESiLICON will be ready to support the development of an integrated cluster of companies and technologies serving the solar and battery markets.
