Our planned facility will not have a natural gas connection and will therefore not produce nitrogen oxides or CO₂ and will produce only minimal heat. By smartly reusing residual flows with neighbouring companies via pipelines, we plan to operate in a way that is both sustainable and progressive.

  • What is the environmental footprint of the plant?

    RESiLICON will design the plant to minimize disruption during construction and operational phases. It is our intent to be a good neighbour to residents in surrounding villages, as well as to the other companies at Groningen Seaports, with whom we aim to operate in synergy as much as possible.
  • What is the CO2 performance of the plant likely to be?

    We are dedicated to delivering the greenest possible product by using sustainable raw materials and renewable electricity, helping to significantly reduce our carbon footprint and protect the environment. This will include selecting quieter equipment, directing lighting inward, and using agreed transport routes. We will continue to engage with local stakeholders as the project develops.
  • How will RESiLICON protect employees, nearby communities and businesses?

    RESiLICON is committed to preventing harm to people and the environment. The facility will be designed, built and maintained to support safe and reliable operations, using appropriate safeguarding technologies and measures to minimise the potential impact of an incident. We will also work with Groningen Seaports, the relevant safety authorities and experienced local emergency-response teams during the design, construction and operational phases. Emergency plans, training and drills will form part of our operational preparations.
